Stamina building for runners

Meets: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:00 a.m. JCC Dallas and Allen High School. Long runs Saturday 7:00 a.m. same locations.

This class coached by Lamar Fue (Dallas) and Kevin Lipski (Allen High) is designed to be an off-season training program that will improve speed and stamina for runners. The target runner is someone who continuously trains for distance runs and wants to break that cycle up. The training includes running on road with rolling terrain and track. It will include movement preparation exercises & basic core strengthening. Runners will participate in two 5K races during the program. Class meets at the North Haven Gardens parking lot in Dallas and Allen High School 5:00 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and will meet for the long run 7 a.m. at North Haven Gardens parking lot and Allen High School Saturday mornings. Space is limited in this class! Any race fees are not included.
Please note: this class trains using heart rate as opposed to pace. It’s a more self-sufficient class than our traditional classes. There will be times when you are running without a group in this class due to differences in fitness and endurance, and you will bring your own water.
There are strict minimum requirements to enter this class:
You must have a functioning heart rate monitor
You must have run an average of at least 20 miles per week the 4 weeks before class starts
You must be able to run below a 30-minute 5K
You must have a Yoga Mat and towel
You must have a water bottle and a safety light
